What will you do?

We are seeking an a Merchandise Trade Planning & Marketing Analyst  team based in our Store Support Office in Williams Landing in the West of  Melbourne

As the Merchandise Trade Planning and Marketing Analyst you will report into the Head of Merchandise Trade. The primary purpose of this role is to manage, co-ordinate and maximise trading outputs , provide insights and report upon trading activity for the business. This is an integral part of the business.

  Other key responsibilities may include:

  • To work collaboratively with the commercial Trade team to identify opportunity , analyse and reporting on results and provide  insights.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate trade driving calendars
  • Measure and report success of trade driving activities in conjunction with Commercial Finance
  • Managing agenda for and chairing of regular Merchandise, Operations, Online & Marketing Trade communication meetings
  • Provide accurate, timely and relevant insights on Merchandise trading and forecasted activity.
  • Identify risks and opportunities within the merchandise plan and execute an exception evaluation on these to guide business decision making
  • Identify and call out reporting requirements and elevate these to the relevant service teams for action
  • Write and deliver reporting and analysis on the Merchandise plans and forecast for communication to the Target Leadership Team.
  • Work collaboratively with the Commercial Finance team on insights and reporting

 

What are we looking for?

 

The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and communication skills be analytical, have high attention to detail and a strong understanding of our Target customer. You will have the ability to take ownership of tasks, build strong working relationships across multiple business functions  and provide sound reasoning and decision quality. You will be able to pick up systems quickly, and have basic/intermediate skills in the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power point). An undergraduate degree in Business, Merchandise or Finance  along with experience working in the retail environment would be advantageous.

 

Other experience that is required to be successful in this role is:

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working within the Merchandise office of a large retail organisation
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or relevant field
  • Experience with inventory & merchandise planning systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Business reporting knowledge and related tools
  • Retail buying office administration and process knowledge
  • Retail buying and merchandise planning knowledge
  • Retail mathematics knowledge
