What will you do?

Haven’t you heard? Online retail is booming! Target’s Digital platform has never been more important than now, and as such we are looking for an innovative Digital Engineering Manager to join the team.  This role will see you leading cross-functional Agile squads who are building tech solutions to ensure Targets digital platform is relevant and fit for purpose.

Some of the things we have in store for you this role include the following:

  • Developing and creating a technical vision, inspiring our teams to contribute and helping them deliver;
  • Continued development of one of the world’s most advanced cloud Hybris installations, providing technical direction around AWS to teams;
  • Helping us solve the problems that confront all online retailers: Accurately tracking stock, ensuring online orders are fulfilled quickly, helping customers find what they’re looking for, learning from our data to better serve customer needs;
  • Embedding continuous improvement in engineering, with a focus on Agile, devops and Lean principles and practices;
  • Overall governance of the Digital IT portfolio, managing business case development, budgets, forecasts, scope scheduling, quality, dependencies, risks and issues.

Reporting into this role is a team of Tech Leads, Engineers and testers, so your previous management experience and your ability to motivate and inspire as well as your ability to sell a story will ensure your success in this role.

What are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Strong knowledge and experience working in Agile environments and the ability to embed Agile principles and processes into your teams way of working;
  • Ideally your background will be that of an Engineer – ensuring your ability to build your teams technical capability;
  • Ability and experience in building a continuous improvement mindset into your teams
  • An insatiable hunger to do well – this role will provide you with the ability to influence and make a difference – are you up for the challenge?
