What will you do?

 

 

We have an amazing opportunity for a Online Logistics Manager to join the expanding online team. This leader will be responsible for managing the business relationships between Target and its Last mile delivery service partners.  They will manage the infrastructure and performance of last mile delivery services for Target. The manager be the liaison for last mile delivery across Head office, stores, DCs and external service providers. A genuine desire to exceed customers’ experiences while optimising team member experience and the overall cost-per-delivery is essential to the success of this role.


Other key responsibilities will include:

 

• Working with 3rd party carriers and carrier aggregators on a day-to-day basis to drive performance of agreed SLAs
• Supporting with negotiation and execution of last mile delivery contracts across numerous vendors
• Drive Innovation for step-change improvement in delivery, safety, quality, and cost metrics pertaining to last mile services.
• Be the point of escalation for stores/DCs/ CSC team to support operations and successful execution of last mile delivery activities
• Work closely with the store and DC operations team to ensure the alignment between internal operations and 3rd Party carriers
• Coordinating standardization of delivery practices, businesses processes, and reporting relating to last mile delivery services
• Support implementing new process and solutions that improve last mile services to completion with the Team Member, Carrier, and Customer Experience in focus
• Regularly review last mile delivery KPIs and performance with carriers and internal stakeholders, driving a collaborative engagement and a continuous improvement culture.
• Researching and conduct market analysis on new potential delivery service providers to optimise delivery services and experience for Target customers.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies

 

• Knowledge of transportation industry or experience of handling last mile delivery suppliers
• Experience of account management and the related service performance
• Experience of contract negotiations
• Experience of account management and the related service performance is beneficial.
• Operational experience managing infrastructure and performance of last mile delivery services
• Solid oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in creating and supporting process mapping
• Experience working in an e-commerce/omnichannel environment
• Experience working within a KPI driven and structured retail environment
