What will you do?


At Target, we are on the lookout for a Senior Instructional Designer to join our dynamic team, offering an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with highly skilled professionals. In our Leadership & Capability (L&C) team, creativity is celebrated, and forward-thinkers are embraced. This role will be based in Target’s National office in Williams Landing and will require regular travel to Kmart’s Head Office in Mulgrave. 


As a Senior Instructional Designer, you will:


  • Consult with internal stakeholders and end-users to determine learning needs and objectives. 
  • Design and develop modern and engaging learning experiences for a diverse range of needs and audiences including technical, compliance, leadership and talent for stores, distribution centres and head offices 
  • Partner with other members of the L&C team to deliver the learning experiences via a range of channels including the Learning Management System (LMS), Sharepoint pages, workshops and on-the-job training. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning solutions and programs through ongoing assessments and feedback mechanisms. 
  • Ensure all learning interventions are aligned to and support key strategic initiatives that embed the values, ways of working and design principles for Kmart Group. 

What are we looking for?


  • Experience creating learning solutions that deliver real impact using contemporary learning delivery approaches
  • Proven experience as an Instructional Designer who can work autonomously, as well as part of a broader team, to deliver both technical and leadership learning projects with a strong portfolio to showcase your work.
  • Advanced instructional Design expertise leading the entire process end-to-end -  including analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple complex projects in fast-paced environment 
  • Advanced skills in developing both digital and face-to-face learning experiences, including but not limited to - elearns, animations, videos, interactive PDFs, LMS pages, sharepoint pages, workshops, sessions, job aids. 
  • Strong technical skills in using Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop), video editing and an animation software 
  • Exceptional project and stakeholder management skills 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
