What will you do?

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey within our Stores Technology team? The Target and Kmart Stores team is responsible for the technology that powers more than 350 Kmart and Target stores throughout Australia and New Zealand, placing products that delight our customers on shelves and maintaining the quality and stability of our critical store systems.

As the Delivery Manager for Stores, you will lead team of Iteration Managers and specialist Business Analyst’s and assume responsibility for the delivery of key IT projects that are revolutionising Kmart and Target and putting us at the forefront of retail in Australia.

You'll also be doing the following:

• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of upwards of 30 concurrent IT projects, ensuring they are sequenced appropriately, completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

• Lead and mentor a team of IT and retail professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and resilience.

• Establish relationships with key stakeholders throughout the Stores and Technology team, fostering cooperation to bring to life innovative solutions to Kmart and Target’s complex retail environments.

• Drive the continuous improvement of delivery processes, leveraging best practices in agile methodologies.

• Act as the primary point of contact for all IT delivery-related activities, maintaining clear communication with both internal teams and external vendors.

• Monitor and report on project progress, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and adjustments.

• Ensure alignment between IT project goals and broader business objectives, particularly in relation to enhancing the retail customer experience.

What are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

• Proven experience as an IT Delivery Manager or in a similar role within the retail sector, with a strong track record leading Agile teams towards successful project delivery.

• Deep understanding of retail IT systems, including POS, merchandise and e-commerce platforms,.

• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams towards common goals.

• Expertise in agile and waterfall project management methodologies, with the ability to adapt based on project needs.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

• A results-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Experience with vendor management, including contract negotiation and performance monitoring.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues that may impact project success.
