We have 4 x 12‑month fixed-term opportunities for State Field Visual Merchandisers to join our Store Experience team.

These field-based roles are located across VIC, QLD, NSW and WA/SA/TAS, working closely with store teams, Zone Managers and the National VM team to embed consistent visual merchandising standards across the Kmart Group network.

You’ll play a key role in building capability and driving consistent VM execution across Kmart stores, helping to enhance customer experience and support strong commercial outcomes through hands-on coaching and in-store support.

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Partner with store leaders and teams to deliver and embed visual merchandising standards across your state.
  • Coach and train store teams new store formats and VM execution, both in-store and through remote channels.
  • Interpret and translate VM guidelines, store plans and layouts to ensure consistent and maintainable execution.
  • Support stores with daily VM enquiries, using these moments to build capability and confidence.
  • Lead training sessions and support change initiatives to ensure VM standards are embedded into everyday operations.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across Store Experience, Zone and National teams to support VM rollouts and improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience, shopability and commercial outcomes through VM execution.
  • Provide feedback and insights from stores to inform future VM guidelines and initiatives.



To Be Succssful in This Role, You'll Have

  • Experience in visual merchandising within a retail environment (experience within apparel is preferred), with demonstrated capability to coach, guide and build confidence in others.
  • Proven ability to influence and support team members through feedback, training and hands‑on coaching in store environments.
  • A strong eye for detail and a creative mindset, balanced with operational practicality.
  • Confidence reading store plans, layouts and VM information, and translating these into clear direction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with broader teams.
  • Confidence managing multiple priorities and adapting to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, positive approach with a genuine interest in developing store team capability.
  • Solid technical skills, including Microsoft Office, and comfort using digital tools to support collaboration and communication.
