We have an amazing opportunity for a Designer in our Soft Home category! In this role, you will be working collaboratively with key stakeholders to offer a professional and creative service to Target, designing commercial representative key trends in all the soft home categories to drive sales and profitability. This is such a great opportunity to shape and design desirable and on-trend product that really has impact! You will be instrumental in identifying, interpreting and implementing global homeware trends to grow sales whilst continuing to bring meaningful moments into our customers lives.


What will you do?

  • Product Development to create innovative and marketable designs that align with the company's brand image and target market. This involves conducting trend research, developing design concepts, and collaborating with product development teams to bring designs to market
  • Trend forecasting and identifying new product opportunities in homewares market.
  • Sample Management/Tracking (relating to housekeeping) and Sample Sign offs with prompt communication and record keeping.
  • Creating and updating Technical Spec Packs and related administrative duties within our product life-cycle management system
  • Product design and development in homeware products.
  • Building relationships and influencing key stakeholders
  • Lead the design and development of soft home from concept to final product.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, marketing, and manufacturing to ensure design feasibility and alignment with brand vision.
  • Conduct market research and trend analysis to inform design decisions and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery to critical path
  • Analyse, interpret, and apply global soft home trends to enhance value through design, aligning with Target’s handwriting. Cultivate a strong aesthetic sense and stay attuned to emerging homeware trends with commercial potential.


What are we looking for? 

We are seeking a talented and experienced Designer specializing in homewares to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of aesthetics, and a proven track record in designing innovative and market-leading products.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

 

  • Proven experience in a soft home Design role (3+ years) 
  • Strong ability to forecast and implement on-trend product ranges that have a commercial and broad appeal
  • Good understanding of commercial range architecture
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing large skews
  • Excellent ability to influence and collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • High proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Ability to create accurate technical specification drawings
  • Solid knowledge of factory capabilities and limitations for mass production
  • Experience in product development in conjunction with factories
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills and exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident & articulate presentation skills with strong attention to detail
