We’re looking for a talented Art Director / Designer to join our in‑house Target Marketing team. In this role, you’ll help shape and deliver bold, elevated creative that connects with our customers and strengthens the Target brand across every touchpoint.
Working as part of a highly collaborative creative team, you’ll contribute to campaign concepting and execution across print and digital channels, supporting everything from major seasonal moments to fast‑turn trade activity. You’ll partner closely with writers, designers, marketers and production teams to deliver work that is relevant, customer‑focused and on brand.
This is a hands‑on role where you’ll balance big‑picture thinking with strong design craft, contributing ideas, evolving creative systems and helping bring our brand story to life at scale.
What you’ll do
As an Art Director / Designer at Target, you’ll:
- Contribute to the concept development, design and execution of seasonal and tactical campaigns across print and digital channels
- Deliver creative assets across multiple formats, including digital, social, eCommerce, catalogues, in‑store and campaign collateral
- Work closely with the Creative Director, Senior Art Director / Designer and wider creative team to bring ideas to life in line with brand strategy
- Collaborate with cross‑functional partners including Marketing, Merchandise, Online, PR and CX teams to deliver work that meets both creative and commercial objectives
- Support photo and content shoots through visual direction, briefing and executional follow‑through
- Apply and uphold Target’s brand guidelines while contributing to the evolution of visual systems, templates and storytelling
- Design and produce high‑quality creative using Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Manage multiple projects at once, delivering work on time, on brief and with attention to detail
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- A strong creative foundation with experience in art direction, design and campaign execution
- A sharp eye for visual storytelling, layout, typography and design craft across print and digital
- A solid understanding of retail and digital content, including fit‑for‑platform execution across social and eCommerce
- Proven experience working collaboratively with copywriters, designers, photographers and production partners
- The ability to translate briefs into clear, impactful creative solutions that resonate with customers
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- A proactive, team‑first mindset with a genuine passion for creating great work
- Experience in a retail or agency environment and a portfolio that demonstrates campaign and multi‑channel design experience
